Colombia has two rainy seasons each year, roughly April to May and September to November, when the weather agency IDEAM regularly issues heavy-rain warnings. Sustained rain raises the risk of flash floods, landslides, and river overflows, concentrated in Andean and Caribbean areas and rural zones.
