Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Colombia Mágico ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit colombiamagico.com (the "Site").
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the message you submit. We use this solely to respond to your inquiry.
Automatically collected information
Like most websites, our servers automatically record standard log data when you visit the Site. This may include your IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited, and date/time of your visit. We also record, on our own servers, each page you view, the page that referred you, your screen size, the language of the page, and any campaign tags in the link you followed, so we can tell which advertisements and articles bring people here. To attribute visits to a city, we send your IP address to the geolocation service ip-api.com and keep the approximate location and internet provider it returns. We use this information to understand how visitors use the Site and to diagnose technical issues.
Cookies
We may use a minimal session cookie to support form functionality. We also run advertising on Facebook and Instagram, and the Meta Pixel described in section 5 sets its own cookies (_fbp, and _fbc if you arrived from an advertisement) in your browser. You can disable cookies in your browser settings without affecting your ability to browse the Site.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To respond to contact form submissions
- To improve the content and functionality of the Site
- To diagnose and fix technical problems
- To understand aggregate traffic patterns. We do not profile individual visitors ourselves; Meta does, for the advertising described in section 5
We do not sell or rent your personal information. The one exception to sharing is described in section 5: the Meta Pixel sends your browsing activity on this Site to Meta so we can measure our advertising. We never send Meta your name, your email address, your phone number, or the content of anything you write to us.
3. Email Communications
If you contact us via the contact form, we will use your email address only to reply to your message. We do not send marketing emails or add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.
4. Third-Party Services
The Site may contain links to external services including Google Maps for restaurant and nightlife venue locations, and WhatsApp for property inquiries. The Site can also load the Meta Pixel, covered separately in section 5, and sends visitor IP addresses to the geolocation service ip-api.com as described in section 1. When you follow these links, you are subject to the privacy policies of those third-party services. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content or privacy practices of any third-party sites.
5. Advertising and the Meta Pixel
We run paid advertising on Facebook and Instagram, including for the Pinares property listing. To measure that advertising, this Site can load the Meta Pixel (dataset ID 1360326922963792), a script operated by Meta Platforms, Inc.
The pixel only loads if you accept the cookie notice. If you decline it, or close the page without answering, the pixel never runs and nothing is sent to Meta. Everything described in this section applies only after you have accepted.
What the pixel collects
The pages you view on this Site, the page you came from, the buttons and links you click, your IP address, your browser and device type, and cookie identifiers (_fbp, and _fbc when you arrive from an advertisement). If you tap a WhatsApp button on a property page, we also send Meta a "Contact" event recording that an inquiry was started. We do not send Meta your name, your phone number, or the content of your message.
Why we use it
To see which advertisements produce genuine interest, and to show the property listing again to people who have already viewed it.
Where that data goes
Meta processes this data on servers in the United States and other countries, as an independent data controller under its own policy at facebook.com/privacy/policy.
How to opt out
- Adjust your Meta advertising preferences at facebook.com/adpreferences/ad_settings.
- Block cookies for this site, or use a tracking blocker. Blocking third party cookies alone is not enough:
_fbpand_fbcare set by this site's own domain, not by facebook.com. - Most browser tracking protection features and content blockers block the pixel entirely. Nothing on this Site breaks if you do.
- Use the industry opt out at optout.aboutads.info.
7. Data Retention
Contact form submissions are retained only as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and diagnostic purposes.
8. Security
The Site is served over HTTPS. We take reasonable technical measures to protect information submitted through the contact form. However, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure.
9. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information you have submitted to us by contacting us at the address below. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
12. Contact
