Repeated Flight Suspensions at Bogota El Dorado After Drone Sightings

Bogota’s El Dorado International Airport suspended operations several times after drone sightings near the airfield, with the main incidents on April 28 and April 30, 2026 and a brief one on May 6. The interruptions drove delays and a smaller number of cancellations across carriers including Avianca and LATAM.

If you are flying through El Dorado, check your airline’s status before leaving for the airport, allow extra connection time, and keep your carrier’s app notifications on. Disruptions have been short but recurring.
