Repeated Flight Suspensions at Bogota El Dorado After Drone Sightings

Bogota’s El Dorado International Airport suspended operations twice within a week after drone sightings near the airfield, the second around the June 21 election weekend. The interruptions drove dozens of delays and a smaller number of cancellations across carriers including Avianca and LATAM.

If you are flying through El Dorado, check your airline’s status before leaving for the airport, allow extra connection time, and keep your carrier’s app notifications on. Disruptions have been short but recurring.
